What is Career Counselling?
Career Counselling at J.A.T. & Associates Inc. is a step by step process of assisting individuals successfully make their next career move. It could be to self-employment, change in position at current company or finding a new position.
If it were as simple as brushing up your resume and responding to ad in the paper, everyone would have the position they wanted, when they wanted. This simply isn’t the case.
Career Transition can be a difficult and worrisome time. The steps taken must be carefully thought out and planned. This time can be a very positive opportunity for change that will affect the rest of an individuals life, both professional and personally.
By enrolling in our program, individuals will have the benefit of one on one career counselling. Working as a team, we will define goals, understand our strengths and weaknesses and put an action plan together.

- Resumes and Cover Letters and “Thank You” notes. We will help you develop winning Resume and cover letters that will get the attention of employers and “make the phone ring”. You will learn how to differentiate yourself from the other applicants in a positive and effective manner.
- Interview Techniques-Hone the individual’s interviewing skills. We will ask some of the toughest questions over first, second and third interviews. The result is a confident individual who can handle the most difficult interviews. This is stressed as one of the most important segments in this program.
- Communication Skills-Verbal and non-verbal skills are developed here. Learn the secrets of non-verbal communications and turn interviews around that may be going badly, to completely successful ones that will help you “get that job”.
- Listening Skills-Practice effective listening and win.
- Resource Centre-Available to our clients for preparation of resumes, searches the Internet, and uses our library, etc.
- Placement Assistance-We will advertise the individual’s abilities to hundreds of potential employers across Canada. We will contact our vast network of contacts and employers and make them aware that you are available!!
- Find the Hidden Job Market-Most of the best opportunities are not advertised. Learn strategies and techniques to find these opportunities.
